How we Recycle Waste Into our Creatiosn
Our community has come up with a few creative techniques to collect and incorporate waste materials into our products! Many of our Scavenger creations require padding, filling, or firm backing. Most companies have these non-biodegradable materials mass-produced overseas, we scavenge them from our local community.
How we collect waste materials:
- Community donations of damaged clothing and gear
- Community plastic donations
- Plastics from public land clean-up projects
What we do with them:
- Flimsy, krinkly plastics, such as water bottles and egg cartons, are cleaned, shredded, and used as the filling for our meditation pillows
- Firmer plastics, such as yogurt and protein powder containers, are used for the brims of our caps.
- Damaged clothing and gear donations are repaired or disassembled into parts. The parts, such as foam, zippers, and buckles, are used in our repair process or in the creation of new products.
As we grow, we are coming up with more creative ways to reuse what's around us!
